Children's Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)

The Children's Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) is a government initiative aimed at improving children's oral health by providing financial assistance for essential dental services. Available to eligible children aged 2-17, the CDBS offers up to $1,052 over two consecutive calendar years for basic dental services.

These services include examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. The scheme helps ensure financial barriers do not prevent children from receiving necessary dental care, promoting better oral health outcomes and preventing more serious dental issues in the future.

Eligibility for the CDBS is determined by receipt of certain government benefits, such as the Family Tax Benefit Part A. The services can be accessed at Byron Bay Dental. By covering essential dental treatments, the CDBS aims to support families in maintaining their children's oral health, reducing the risk of dental diseases and fostering positive dental habits from a young age.
